ATLANTA — Authorities arrested four tax preparers during a string of raids Monday in several counties.
Only Channel 2 Action News was there when state agents burst into the businesses in Cobb, Gwinnett and DeKalb counties.
The state was working to stop crooks from filing bogus returns.

“We have zero tolerance for those that try to defraud our taxpayers,” said Georgia Department of Revenue Commissioner Lynne Riley.
Georgia Department of Revenue Chief Josh Waites says an undercover agent went into each of the four businesses as a client armed with information that should not have generated any refund at all.
But at each location, preparers allegedly used bogus numbers to come up with returns showing refunds owed.
“The four preparers are being charged with computer forgery and false statement at this time,” Waites said.
