COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A dog in Cobb County can now help parents sniff out the suspicious activity making them wonder what their kids are up to.
Drug dog "Ellie" sniffs out heroin, meth, cocaine, marijuana and painkillers.
Former Marietta police officer Tim Fant told Channel 2's Linda Stuffer she can find where addicts are hiding stashes, even trace amounts.
When Stouffer put a cloth with marijuana residue in one spot to see the dog's training, Ellie did not disappoint.
One Cobb County mother said she would have done anything to save her son from an overdose.
“When a child is deep in the throes of heroin, they end up either dead or in jail," Missy Owens aid.
For a price of about $200, Fant said his team will search a house or car for drugs.
As for what happens after they find something, Fant said he leaves the parents to deal with that.
