Driver loses control of car, fatally strikes person inside car wash

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga — Sandy Springs police are investigating how a driver lost control of a car and slammed into a car wash, killing someone inside the building.

Officers spent hours Saturday night photographing the scene to figure out if this was just a tragic accident.

The black Ford Mustang was still at the spot where someone was standing when hit by the car.

The crash happened about 5 p.m. Saturday at Mikael's Car Wash in Sandy Springs.

Channel 2's Jessica Jaglois spoke with an employee at a nearby gas station who said he heard the crash and then screaming.

Police told Jaglois the car's driver lost control and slammed into the building.

The victim was pronounced dead after being rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
