SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Family and friends gathered to remember a father hit and killed by a stray bullet. They gathered Sunday night at Roosevelt Park Apartments to remember him.
They held candles as they remembered 52-year-old Robert Moore.
He died in his home on Thursday when gunfire erupted outside after a basket ballgame and a bullet hit him.
His wife said they had just moved in, after another family tragedy.
“We were both burnt out of our house fire in Avery Park Apartments on Herschel Road like six to seven weeks ago and they placed us here. We didn't want to come here and this is where they placed us. We begged them not to come here,” Ricketta Moore said.
Moore’s family tells Channel 2 Action News he talked about stray bullets coming into his home just hours before his death.
"He said a bullet was going to hit our house and if doesn't shoot me the kids or him it's going to kill one of us,” said Ricketta Moore.
“I had a dream last night. I talked to him in my dream. I'm relieved a little as long as he keeps talking to me letting me know he's okay,” stepdaughter Precious Moore said.
Police arrested Felerix Cofer on weapons charges but detectives said he could face more charges later. Cofer lived next door to Moore, according to police.
Police said they are searching for at least three other people who were arguing after that basketball game.
