Doctors amputate man's leg after brutal stabbing

TUCKER, Ga. — Police are investigating a brutal stabbing at a DeKalb County apartment complex that forced doctors to amputate a man's leg.

Investigators said the attack happened at the Peachcrest Garden Apartments on Glenwood Road in Tucker overnight Monday.

Officers received a call of a person attacked and stabbed. When they arrived, they found a man lying in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds.

Doctors say they amputated the 27-year-old man's leg to save his life. He's currently in critical condition.

Investigators believe several people attacked the victim.

The area was so dark where the attack happened that investigators say no one was able to get a description on the number suspects or what they looked like.

Channel 2 Action News watched as crime scene techs searched for clues at the scene. Investigators collected evidence in the parking lot and in the bushes.

Authorities say so far there is not a motive in the attack.
