Police: 2 killed at DeKalb County motel

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police said they are investigating two killings at motel in DeKalb County.

DeKalb County police got a call of someone shot inside a room at the Affordable Hotel near Glenwood Road and Interstate 285.

They said they found the motel room door opened and found two men, estimated to be in their teens to early 20s, dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside.

Officers and security guards were in the parking lot and canvassing the area Thursday morning.

A woman told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore over the phone that her longtime friend was shot and killed.

She said he was the so-called candy man of the hotel and people would stop by his room to buy candy.

She believes it was robbery, but so far detectives have yet to confirm any of that.

DeKalb County police said the motive is not yet known and the investigating is ongoing.
