DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Another round of severe storms in metro Atlanta caused damage to several homes.
Flooding and strong winds ripped down trees in several parts of Dekalb County, including a tree that cut a van in half.
“The clouds got dark. The wind picked up. It severely picked up. In a matter of moments, trees started falling,” said Lemuel Collins.

Collins told Channel 2′s Larry Spruill the tree from his front yard, fell and landed right on his neighbor’s van and split it in half.
“I saw the tree actually fall. I was actually outside with my son as it was happening. We were under the carport there. I just watched this massive tree just fall,” said Collins.
It did not just smash the SUV, it also crashed onto the roof of his neighbor’s home across the street.
“It is a blessing that no one was physically hurt. We had some property damage, but nobody was physically hurt,” Collins said.

“Just the power of Mother Nature. It put it in perspective, like again severe weather is real.”
