DALTON, Ga. — Dalton Mayor David Pennington says he plans to run against current Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal in the 2014 election.
Channel 2's Lori Geary said she was told Tuesday morning that Pennington, a Republican, is officially challenging Deal.
A news release issued later Tuesday morning said Pennington has filed the necessary paperwork to begin his campaign for the GOP nomination. It also included a link to Pennington's campaign website.
