Cybersecurity training center to bring jobs to Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned Henry County’s economy soon could be getting a huge shot in the arm.

“Certainly be over a thousand new jobs, so that’d be phenomenal for the city of Stockbridge,” said developer J.T. Williams.

An international cybersecurity company has signed a lease to open a training center in Stockbridge.

It will be in a 33,000-square-foot building on North Park Place, not far from the Eagles Landing Country Club.

Williams told Channel 2 Action News the center will offer training “in 12 disciplines in the cybersecurity field."

"So it’ll give our citizens an opportunity to come in, the young folks particularly, and get certified in those 12 disciplines and then they can get good jobs," he said.

This type of training center is timely, given all the recent high-profile hacking attacks in the U.S. and abroad.

City and county leaders hope the center will help Henry County become the hub for fighting Internet attacks.

The new training center could open as soon as three months from now.

Leaders hope once it opens, it will attract even more businesses to Henry County.
