PUTNAM COUNTY, Ga. — A Forsyth man was found dead after he was thrown from a boat on Lake Sinclair in central Georgia Tuesday.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said they responded to reports that a 42-year-old man was thrown off a boat when it hit an object in the lake. The man’s daughter jumped in to tried to save him, but was unable to.

Crews located the man’s body around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Putnam County Sheriff Howard Stills told the Union Recorder that the accident happened near Putman Beach.

The victim and his daughter, who is 18, were fishing when they hit what authorities believe was a tree stump in the water. Both were thrown from the boat.
Lake Sinclair is about two and a half hours southeast of Atlanta.

The victim has not been identified.
