Cobb student faces 8 felonies over nude photos

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Cobb County high school student is accused of posting nude photos of other students under 18 on the Internet.

Harrison High School senior Michael Cook is being held at the Cobb County Jail without bond on eight felony counts. Charges include child cruelty and child porn. At the school, students told Channel 2's Ross Cavitt that Cook was arrested on campus.

"Pretty big shocker because I knew him," student Kyle Gatley told Cavitt.

Police aren't commenting much on the case, saying they still are pouring over computers and evidence. Students said Cook wove through the victims' social media pages, gained access to email accounts and found pictures buried in personal messages and posted them to a website.

Once investigators were tipped off, they identified the victims  --  reportedly from several high schools, and arrested Cook.

"They need to learn from their lesson but I also think he had no right to do that at all," student Makayla Presley said.
