According to a report from the Smyrna Police Department, officers were sent to the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Lake Park Drive on July 19 around 10 p.m.
During their investigation, police determined that while a man crossed Cobb Parkway, outside of a crosswalk, he was hit by Potter’s Kia while it drove in the inside straight lane.

When police arrived, they found a dead pedestrian, later identified as 51-year-old Todd Murphy of Smyrna.
A Smyrna police report says officers found alcoholic beverages in the car.
At the scene, officers performed a field sobriety test on Potter and she was taken into custody.
Police said Potter consented to a blood test at the jail, which was then sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for analysis.
Potter was charged with homicide by vehicle in the first degree, a felony charge, on Oct. 29.
She was granted a more than $110,000 bond, and paid it, leading to her release from custody on Oct. 30.
