Ukraine native living in Marietta collecting donations for relief efforts

MARIETTA, Ga. — A woman in Marietta is doing whatever she can to help her home country of Ukraine.

Inna Hanks is organizing a donation collection at RockBox Fitness, where people in Atlanta can help refugees directly.

Channel 2′s Justin Carter spoke to Hanks on Saturday as a donation event was getting underway.

Hank is from Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. She told Carter she felt the need to do something

She lives in metro Atlanta, but seeing what’s going on in Ukraine was heartbreaking.

She’s asking people in the community to stop by RockBox Fitness on Lower Roswell Road to donate anything to help refugees in Ukraine.

Items needed include:

  • clothing for all ages
  • non-perishable food items
  • hygiene products
  • bedding
  • and first-aid products.

Hanks said people have been mailing stuff to her house for weeks, so she wanted to create a safe place where people can come to drop off donations.
