COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police said they found more than six grams of crack cocaine on a man they arrested in a Cobb County elementary school parking lot.
Compton elementary school parents told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt they are upset that they were not told about the arrest.
"I mean in a way I want to be notified because my son goes to that school. If it has to do with guns or drugs, I want to know," one parent told Cavitt Thursday.
The drug bust happened during a traffic stop.
A Powder Springs officer put on their lights behind the car on New Macland. The driver pulled into the Compton Elementary School parking lot.

The female driver had her two kids in the back and her boyfriend, Levern Pompey, was in the front passenger seat of the car.
"That's when the officer made contact with the front passenger and that's when he smelled an even stronger smell of marijuana," said Officer Justin Arndt, with the Powder Springs Police Department.
The police officer believes the driver pulled into Compton Elementary because she was going to drop off one or both of her children there, but for the driver, that turned out to be an unfortunate situation.
Police said they questioned Pompey further, and then found suspected crack cocaine stuffed in his pants.
"The way it was packaged, it was about 50 pieces inconsistent with personal use," Arndt told Cavitt.
Police charged Pompey with drug distribution and distribution within 1,000 feet of a school. He also had an open container in the front of the car.
Investigators said they were not happy two young kids witnessed it all.
"We don't ever want to have children placed in this kind of situation," Arndt said.
Records show Pompey has served three stints in the state prison system for drug and trespassing charges, as well as violating his parole. He was last released from jail a year and a half ago.
He is now in jail without bond.
