COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A retired Atlanta Falcons player, Aaron’s and Habitat for Humanity teamed up to make a Cobb County mother’s dreams come true.
Warrick Dunn, his foundation and their partners surprised Layla with $10,000 worth of furnishings and $5,000 toward the down payment on her new Habitat home.
Layla is a single mother of three, whose kids age from five to 16, and works as a caregiver at an adult care center in Marietta. They were sleeping on mattresses on the floor of a run-down apartment.
Layla helps so many others, so Dunn said it was time to help her.
“It is great to be in Austell helping a family here, this is our third home in Austell and it’s been a great partnership with the Habitat here as well.”
Dunn is the founder of Warrick Dunn Charities and he has helped nearly 200 single-parent families achieve their goal of homeownership over the last 20 years.
