2 injured after crash on I-75 in Marietta, police say

MARIETTA POLICE

MARIETTA, Ga. — Two people were injured in a crash that occurred Saturday night in Marietta.

The crash occurred just before 11:30 p.m., on I-75 southbound near North Marietta Parkway.

During the investigation, Marietta officials learned Elias Sauceda, 21, of Dickinson, Texas was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with Joseph James, 24, of Florida as a passenger.

Authorities said, for reasons unknown, the Chevrolet left their lane and hit a 2012 Nissan Altima, driven by Briana Daughtery, 30, of Loganville.

Marietta police said the Chevrolet flipped and both vehicles left the roadway, hitting a guardrail.

Sauceda was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. James was also taken to Wellstar Kennestone for minor injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
