CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — “Sprinkle peace is good for you. Sprinkle kindness is good for you,” Samantha Burnett read aloud.
She may be only 7 years old, but she speaks from the heart.
“It was nice, peaceful, and love,” Samantha said.
Fifth-grader Ta’Nai Kennedy has a similar gift.
“Dr. King had a dream, that we will work as a team,” Ta’Nai said. They both attend Pointe South Elementary School in Clayton County. Their poetry will now be enjoyed by millions.
“Let freedom ring, as we remember Dr. King. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I was really happy about that,” Ta’Nai said.

Their poems were recently placed in the “I Have a Dream” World Peace Rose Garden at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta. They were selected from thousands of entries from school children all over the country.
“It’s crazy because it’s going to be there for an entire year. Imagine that,” Ta’Nai said.

“What they wrote is so fantastic. They believe what they wrote,” their teacher Roberta Heater said.
Their parents are beaming with joy. “If it were one through 10, I’m on a hundred,” Samantha’s dad Sam said.
Samantha says it was a day she’ll never forget.
“It was good, and my mom said she was proud of me,” Samantha said.
