JONESBORO, Ga. — Clayton County police have rescued at least 35 animals from an alleged animal hoarder in Jonesboro.
Clayton County’s Animal Control Unit was tipped off to a possible hoarding situation at a home on Dundy Court.

The suspect did not allow investigators into the home, but told them she had 5 Great Danes and 13 cats, which is above the legal limit for animals inside the residence. She allowed them to see four of the dogs.
She told police she was fostering for a rescue group, but that was not true.

Investigators returned to the property Tuesday, but the suspect again declined allowing them into her home. She did admit to having a large pig that could not move on its own, and was urinating and defecating on itself.
Police then returned the same day with a warrant to search the property.

At the time of putting out a press release, police had rescued 35 animals and had “many more” to go. The exact number of animals rescued from the home has not yet been released.
Police have not commented on whether or not the woman would be arrested and charged.
