Child, suspect hospitalized in chase crash

JOHNS CREEK, Ga.,None — A police chase across multiple counties ended with a crash Wednesday afternoon.

The chase began in Hall County, just north of the Gwinnett County line. Deputies were pursuing James Thomas Faulkner, who was wanted on several charges, including stealing the vehicle involved in the pursuit.

Deputies said Faulkner, 41, stole his girlfriend's car Monday and held her inside against her will. They said he threatened her and hit her before letting her out of the car in White County.

The car was spotted Wednesday, but Faulkner took off during an attempted traffic stop, deputies said. Deputies followed Faulkner to Johns Creek, where he crashed, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office. At Abbotts Bridge and Medlock Bridge roads, he ran a red light and was struck by two vehicles, deputies said. They said one car that hit him was driving north, and the other was driving south.

Faulkner was taken to hospital, along with a 4-year-old child, who was in one of the other cars. They were both hurt with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
