Channel 2's Katie Walls visits the Georgia Aquarium

ATLANTA — On a beautiful spring day, my husband, friend and I ventured to the Georgia Aquarium. Of course, being spring break, the kids’ were out in full bloom but their excitement palpable.

Being an avid SCUBA diver, we first stopped by the Tropical Diver exhibit, which always reminds me of diving in the Caribbean. Bright, colorful fish swim amongst equally bright coral.

Our next stop was to Ocean Voyager. The 100-foot-long underwater tunnel is mesmerizing, as whale sharks, goliath grouper and manta rays glide around you. It’s the best in the world for a reason.

We continued our journey to the second-largest viewing window in the world. Perhaps it’s because I’m a Pisces, but this viewing area is extremely peaceful and enchanting.

We continued to Cold Water Quest, where “Mama Beluga” is VERY pregnant and ready to give birth any day now.

Nearby the sea otter was laying on his back, rubbing his belly, and sucking his paw. There’s always something new to see every visit to the Aquarium and this time for me, it was the big-belly seahorse, which looked as pregnant as the Beluga whale!
