Chamblee police bust 'rolling meth lab'

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — Two people are facing charges after police say they found all the materials and ingredients for a "rolling meth lab" inside a stolen minivan.

Chamblee police said an officer was following a minivan along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. When the officer ran the license plate, he discovered the van had been stolen.

Police say the officer pulled the van over at the QuikTrip on the corner of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Pierce Drive.

While investigating, police say the officer discovered ingredients used to make methamphetamines inside the van.

Police arrested Traci Lynn Paige, 44, and David Travis McQuaig, 44. Paige is charged with possession of amphetamine. McQuaig is charged with possession of amphetamine and theft by receiving stolen property.

GBI agents roped off the gas station with crime scene tape as they investigated and removed the materials from the van.

Chamblee police say they also seized a small amount of meth and marijuana.

Police say McQuaid and Page will remain in jail until their next court appearance, which should happen in the next 48 hours.
