Bond granted to suspect in murder of man selling video game

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Fulton County judge granted bond to one of two suspects in the murder of a Sandy Springs man who was selling a video game console on Craigslist.

Prosecutors say Nathaniel Vivian, 20, and his 16-year-old girlfriend, Kayla Dixon, responded to an online ad Danny Zeitz posted last month for a Playstation 4, intending to rob him of it.

When the pair arrived to his Treelodge Parkway apartment, investigators said Zeitz refused to give up the unit and Dixon fired off a fatal shot.

Judge Karen Woodson granted bond a more than $100,000 bond to Vivian, but said she would withhold ruling on Dixon until a hearing next month.

“Each day we awake with the shocking realization that life as we knew it our son Danny and brother will no longer exist,” said Zeitz’s mother, Patty outside of court Tuesday.

Zeitz’s father, John, expressed disappointment that Vivian would get a bond.

“We are not in favor of that, but that’s the judge’s decision,” he said.  “Eventually we know that justice will be done.”

A public defender told the judge Dixon was an honor student at Chamblee High School who got pregnant at 14 and went astray.

She described the incident as a “one-time” situation and said Dixon wouldn’t be a danger to society.

Zeitz’s parents were not satisfied with the argument.

“She was able to pull a trigger of a gun and kill another human being over $238,” said Ms. Zeitz.

Both defendants are due back in court November 13.
