Body found at Georgia Perimeter identified as 23-year-old

CLARKSTON, Ga. — Authorities said a body found on the Georgia Perimeter College campus is that of a 23-year-old from West Africa.

The body was found at the Clarkston campus Monday morning. State investigators told Channel 2's Erica Byfield someone driving past the campus about 7 a.m. noticed the male body and called 911. Investigators called it a murder case, but would not provide details.

The next day, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the victim as Alpha Oumar Diallo. Officials said autopsy results showed he was strangled and received blunt force injuries to the head.

Diallo, who was not a Georgia Perimeter student, was last seen Sunday afternoon at his Stone Mountain home. He was a citizen of French Guinea and has been an American resident since 2008.
