We’re going over new models to show you the timing of when it’ll rain in your neighborhood, on Channel 2 Action News.
Here’s what you should know ahead of Thursday’s storms:
- There is a level 3 of 5 risk for much of metro Atlanta tomorrow.
- Increasing, heavy rain will start Thursday morning and last until the early afternoon. The first wave of this system will likely come in the form of mainly heavy rain with embedded gusty storms.
- There will be an elevated risk for tornadoes with the severe storms. The main threats, aside from possible tornadoes, are heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and possible hail. Before the storms get here, make sure you have turned on the sound for alerts in your weather app.
- The storms have already sparked tornado watches in other states as the system moves our way.
- Areas could see several inches of rain before the storms move out.
