BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities have recovered a man’s body after he has presumed to have drowned yesterday on a local lake.
On Monday just after 11 pm, Georgia DNR Game Wardens responded to a drowning near the Main Street Grocery and Bait on Allatoona Lake.
The 40-year-old man was fishing and decided to swim, according to authorities. Witnesses on the scene stated that the victim started to struggle and did not resurface.
The Game Wardens, along with Bartow Fire and Rescue immediately began searching the area.
Officials located the victim’s body on Tuesday at 1:40pm.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin.
