ATLANTA — Police are investigating the shooting death of a teen who was found in an SUV at a local apartment complex.
The death was reported early Thursday morning at Deerfield Gardens Apartment Homes on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta.
Atlanta police said they found 16-year-old Keosha Tinch dead in the back seat of a white SUV.
“(Officers) did, in fact, find a female in probably in her mid-20s shot at least one time,” Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton said.

Hampton said the driver and a passenger in the SUV pulled into the complex.
“They were coming here to meet someone else and then when they got here, they were met with someone with a gun and then, again, there was an exchange of gunfire,” Hampton said.
The woman died at the scene, he said. She has not yet been identified.
The accused gunman got away and police are still searching for him.
Investigators are questioning the driver and the passenger, who are cooperating with the investigation.
