ATLANTA — More than 100,000 gathered to celebrate the New Year in downtown Atlanta with the Peach Drop.
But after 28 years, it's an end of an era for the event at Underground Atlanta.
The property has been sold to developers, but the city pushed back the closing till just after the New Year just so they could have this one final celebration.
The Peach Drop has been a New Year's tradition in downtown Atlanta since 1989, and organizers have promised to keep it going, just in a different spot.
Some of the ideas of where to move the Peach Drop include Centennial Olympic Park, Woodruff Park and possibly even Piedmont Park, or Atlantic Station.
In the meantime, Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach asked partiers what they're hoping for in the new year.
"Sometimes, (you) have to cut yourself off to be a better you for the new year," one attendee said.
