“I pretty much took the day off just in case I might get a chance to get tickets,” said Kenny Jones.

But it didn’t work out for him.

Devonnne Laird had a different experience.

“I was in the queue for maybe 60 seconds and then boom I was in I was able to look at tickets,” said Laird.

It was day one of ticket sales for the first group able to buy tickets, the Beyhive. The tickets will open up to other groups throughout the week.

Ticketmaster is hoping to avoid another debacle like what they saw with Taylor Swift.

“Everyone is fighting for that presale, and I didn’t know if I wanted to wait in the queue line again and I even tried to get her tickets,” said Nikki Naraine.

But as everyone clamors to get their hands on a ticket, Channel 2 consumer adviser Clark Howard has a warning.

“Do not buy third party no matter what. When you really get burned, you buy third party, you either end up with counterfeit tickets or you end up with real ones and the concert gets postponed or canceled, you never get back the premium you’ve paid above the actual retail ticket price,” said Howard.

Howard also advised setting a budget.

“Just step back and think about what you could do with that money that you don’t borrow to buy the Beyonce tickets,” said Howard.
