ATLANTA — Mercer University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta are teaming up to improve pediatric healthcare in rural Georgia.

Leaders representing both groups joined Gov. Brian Kemp at the State Capitol Wednesday afternoon.
CHOA has established a fund of $200 million to help produce more pediatricians in rural Georgia.

“This fund will support our commitment to ten full-time scholarships in 2023 through Mercer University School of Medicine for medical students,” Donna Hyland said.
Those students must specialize in pediatrics and commit to serving at least four years in rural Georgia after residency.
