ATLANTA — In Georgia job numbers set a new record in September.
The number of jobs increased almost 13,000 last month, to more than 4.8 million total.

Georgia’s labor commissioner says the new positions included opportunities in administrative and support services with 3,100 new positions, health care and social assistance with 2,800 new jobs and manufacturing with 1,800 new jobs.
“We are continuing to see strong job creation and demand for workers in Georgia,” said Commissioner Butler. “We are seeing some of the best economic opportunities for job seekers that we have seen in years.”

There are more than 178,000 jobs listed at EmployGeorgia.com with approximately 235,000 positions unfilled.
Georgia unemployment remains at an all-time low at 2.8% for the third consecutive month.
Georgia’s unemployment rate is better than the national rate, which is 3.5%.
