ATLANTA — Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian has announced it will open a showroom at Atlanta’s Ponce City Market in October.
A rendering of the 5,020-square-foot showroom features Rivian’s vehicles with a comfortable space for prospective customers to learn more about the line of electric vehicles.
Interested customers will be able to get a closer look at the vehicles in the showroom and test drive them, but not purchase them there.

Instead of selling their vehicles through dealerships, Rivian uses a direct-to-customer sales model where customers custom-build their vehicles and then receive them directly from Rivian.
In 2021, Gov. Brian Kemp announced that a $5 billion plant in Morgan County will become a national hub for Rivian.
The plant is expected to bring thousands of jobs to the state with the start of production slated for 2024.
The plant could grow to as many as 8,000 workers, Rivian said, which would make it among the largest auto assembly complexes in the United States, rivaled by behemoths such as the BMW complex in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Ford Motor Co.’s plant in Louisville, Kentucky.
In April, Kemp gathered with lawmakers, executives with Rivian, and Georgia Power to celebrate the installation of an electric vehicle charging station in Tallulah Gorge State Park, nearly two hours from Atlanta.
That charging station is part of Kemp’s effort to bring more EV opportunities to rural Georgia.
There are plans to have similar charging stations in six of Georgia’s 49 state parks.
