ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks honored our late friend and colleague Jovita Moore at Friday’s night’s game.
Moore was recognized as an Atlanta Hawks Forever 404 Honoree. The initiative celebrates a commitment to community, culture and causes.
“Jovita anchored on WSB-TV while being a devoted mom who spent countless hours with civic associations and non-profit organizations across Atlanta,” the Hawks said in a tweet.
Jovita died on Oct. 28, seven months after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Throughout her time in Atlanta, Jovita donated countless hours to civic associations and nonprofit organizations across metro Atlanta.
As part of Friday night’s recognition, The Hawks will make a $1,000 donation to Our House in Jovita’s honor. That organization was near and dear to Jovita’s heart.
The Forever 404 presentation took place during the second quarter of Friday night’s game.
