ATLANTA - Police are searching for a driver who hit a 20-year-old University of West Georgia student in Buckhead Sunday and drove away.

Chelzie Parmer is still in the ICU at Grady Hospital with three fractures to her skull and other injuries.

Channel 2's Kristen Holloway talked to Ashia Pace, a fellow University of West Georgia student who was with Parmer the night of the accident. The girls were in Atlanta for a wedding.

Pace was in tears as she remembered what happened.

Pace told Holloway that she and Parmer were walking from the Hole in the Wall bar and had the right of way on Peachtree Road when a black Dodge Charger sped through the crosswalk.

Pace said she made it across the street, turned around and saw the car hit Parmer twice before the driver left the scene.

"When she hit the ground, her head hit the ground really hard," Pace said. "Instead of him slowing down and trying to stop, he just sped up."

Pace said she was shocked and couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"He kind of drug her at first," Pace said. "She went from the crosswalk with the car and then shot up in the air. By the time she came down, he was pressing the gas again, so he clipped her legs again.

Atlanta police told Holloway they watched surveillance video and saw the Charger speeding away from the scene. They said the car has damage to the passenger side window.

Pace had a plea for anyone who saw the crash.

"He didn't have much mercy. I know he saw her because she was on his car, so he couldn't miss her," Pace said. "I'm not sure why he didn't stop, but I just want to find him, because if he could do it that time, he could do it again."

Pace is asking anyone who saw anything from the night Parmer was hit to email her at ashia.pace98@gmail.com or call police.
