ATLANTA — Atlanta Police have seized 174 pounds of marijuana brought to Georgia on a flight from Seattle, Washington.
Police said a K9 unit alerted on five suitcases unloaded from a flight on May 26. The suitcases had been removed from the plane and were on their way to baggage claim when the K9 officer alerted to them.
Officers were able to identify and detain four people who each picked up one of the bags.

Officers recovered a total of seven suitcases with approximately $700,000 worth of marijuana inside.
47-year-old Nicole Golden was arrested after retrieving one bag from baggage claim. She was found to be in possession of 21.8 pounds of marijuana and was charged with trafficking marijuana and transported to the Clayton County Jail.

29-year-old Naly Tong and 33-year-old Keomanyvanh Tong were arrested after retrieving one bag each from baggage claim. Both also had another bag containing marijuana.
Keomanyvanh Tong was found in possession of 45.98 pounds of marijuana and Naly Tong was found possessing 43.34 pounds. Each was charged with trafficking marijuana and taken to the Clayton County Jail.

32-year-old Jarvis Sheppard was arrested after retrieving two bags from baggage claim. He was found in possession of 63.28 pounds of marijuana and charged with trafficking marijuana and taken to the Clayton County Jail.
In each case, the suspects claim someone else had packed the bag and they were picking it up for a different person.
Police advise to never travel with a bag that isn’t yours.
