A 10-year-old boy has died after drowning in an Atlanta hotel pool.
ATLANTA — Atlanta police spokesman Lukasz Sajdak said they learned of the incident just before 10 p.m. Saturday and at 2 a.m. Sunday the child was alive but in critical condition, after being rescued from a pool at The Westin Peachtree Plaza.
The boy’s parents say they’re in pain because they say no one has told them what happened.

Akinlabi says her son went to a birthday party at the hotel. Hours later, they got a call that he had been found facedown in the pool.
“There was a scream, and there was another guest at the hotel that jumped in to save our son,” Akinlabi said.
She says another guest started doing CPR.
“Who does that? I’m demanding an answer to that,” said Stephen’s father, Abedeen Akinlabi.
The couple says they’ve asked for surveillance video of the area around the pool, but they were told the hotel doesn’t have a camera in that location.
Ron Tarson, general manager of The Westin Peachtree Plaza, released the following statement Monday: “We do not have any additional information at this time. We’re deeply saddened by this event and our hearts and thoughts are with this young man and his loved ones.”
The four-star Westin hotel is located at 210 Peachtree St. NW in Atlanta.
