: A man was killed in a hit-and-run in a Home Depot parking lot, and now police need help identifying the driver seen in surveillance pictures.

Police gave Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach two pictures that show where the incident happened Friday on Mt. Zion Road in Morrow.

Police said the victim met the suspect in the parking lot to sell him a laptop. The transaction somehow went wrong and the suspect sped off with the victim hanging on to the car. The suspect slammed on his brakes, sending the victim flying.

“There’s absolutely no doubt, period, after looking at the video that this individual knew this gentleman was hanging on to his car,” Clayton County Police Capt. Stefan Schindler said.

Officials said the car was occupied by an older black male. Police released a sketch of what the suspect may look like.

Co-workers of the victim ran over as the suspect stopped to get out for a few seconds.

“It appears the individual that did this crime stopped his vehicle and picked up possibly the laptop before he fled,” Schindler said.

A broken side mirror left behind led police to think the suspect is driving a 1994 to 1999 Toyota Avalon.

Family members said the victim is a father of three and had one grandchild.
