TALLAPOOSA, Ga. — The Robinson and Sons gas station just off of Interstate 20 had a constant stream of traffic Tuesday.
Hopeful patrons lined up throughout the day for a chance to win the $1.58 billion Mega Millions prize.
The jackpot is the largest in Mega Millions history.
Many people standing in line at Robinson and Sons were from Alabama and crossed state lines for a chance to win more than a billion dollars.

“Everybody makes that stop -- Exit 5,” Marvin Dickson said.
Alabama is one of only a few states that does not have a lottery or participate in multistate lotteries like Mega Millions.
Dickson was one of the hundreds of Alabamans who made the trip to buy tickets Tuesday, spending money that will pay for the higher education of Georgians.
“Georgia benefits now,” Dickson said.
Efforts to pass a lottery in Alabama have consistently been proposed in the state and voted down.
