• 3 bodies found inside car in Union City

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police are investigating the deaths of three people found in a car in Union City early Sunday.

A Union City patrol officer was riding along the Interstate 85 north exit ramp near Flat Shoals Road around 5 a.m. when he saw a car parked on the side of the road. The officer looked inside of the car and saw two bodies. He then opened the trunk, where he found a third dead person.

Police have not released any details, but they did tell Channel 2's Amanda Cook they are investigating the case as a triple homicide.

"This is still an open investigation. (The Georgia Bureau of Investigations) is involved. They are assisting, and we will be able to give you updates as we go along," said Union City police spokeswoman Gloria Hodgson.

A Channel 2 Action News crew was restricted from getting close to the scene.
