ATLANTA — Police have made two arrests and are looking for a third suspect in a robbery that developed into a police chase across multiple cities.
Sandy Springs police were called to a robbery outside a Bank of America shortly after 11 a.m. When officers arrived, a car carrying three men took off from the bank on Roswell Road, police said.
The victim, who asked not to be named, said he was making a deposit when the robbers grabbed a deposit pouch from his hand. He told Channel 2's Mike Petchenik he was able to swat it out of their hands before they took off.
Officers followed the suspects' car from Ga. 400 to Interstate 285 until it crashed in northwest Atlanta. News Chopper 2 flew over Bolton Road at Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, where police cruisers surrounded the wrecked car.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene, but one more is on the loose. Sandy Springs, Cobb County and Atlanta officers used K-9 units and a police helicopter to search a nearby wooded area.
