Here’s how local Atlanta businesses are stepping up to help frontline workers

ATLANTA, Ga — Many local Atlanta businesses are stepping up to help health care workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although most of the businesses themselves are hurting, they have still found a way to give back.

Mark Spain Real Estate has partnered with the YMCA to provide childcare for first responders and healthcare workers.

'First responders and healthcare workers are working so hard to keep everyone safe and they shouldn’t have to worry about who will take care of their children while doing this life-saving work," Spain said.

The partnership is providing childcare for more than 1,000 children. If you’d like to donate to help, you can do that here.

Restaurant group owner Fred Castellucci, of Castellucci Hospitality Group, which includes Atlanta hot spots like Iberian Pig and Recess, has partnered with Emory Hospital to Feed the Frontline, an initiative which provides meals for hospital workers and employees.

Those who order from any of his restaurants online have the opportunity to donate a $15 meal, which the hospitality group will match. Thus far, they have delivered over 1,000 meals to hospital workers.

“I think the desire to serve and give that hospitality to the community is always there. And so even in tough times, I think that’s more important that we kind of have that reflex to do that. This is just a way to continue and do that,” Castellucci explained.

"Our ethos as a company is centered around hospitality, and I feel like it's always our reaction to do that even when we ourselves are struggling. To see our family of guests partner with us on this has taught me a lot about who we are as a company and the guests that we serve." - Federico Castellucci.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far to our #FeedtheFrontline campaign! King of Pops is getting in on the action as well. Looking to raise $25,000 to keep their business up and running, the company created a GoFundMe page created to give away Unexpected Moments of Happiness. Those moments include donating 10,000 pops to health care workers and frontline staff.

And it’s a win-win as the fund is helping to still employ their employees, while giving back and spreading some cheer in a major way.

Another collaboration, the Spanx by Sarah Blakely Foundation, has teamed up with True Story Brands hospitality group, which includes Atlanta staple restaurant spots like Ten Degrees South, Yebo and Biltong Bar. Blakely and the True Story Brands group started Frontline Dine, partnering with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to provide meals for their staff.

The charitable cause is committed to delivering a whopping 2,500 meals a week to CHOA.

And earlier this month, Eat Clean Bro, a local all-natural meal delivery company, provided meals for families currently staying with the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities near Egleston.

Kudos to all of these local Atlanta businesses for giving back.
