COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A security guard shot and a killed an armed robber who wasn't satisfied with the amount of cash he was able to take from a College Park hotel, police said.

Security Guard Shoots, Kills Robber

Hotel owner Ramesh Bhagat told Channel 2's Tom Jones the clerk handed over $150, but the robber demanded more money.

"He asked for more money, but we said 'We don't have more money,' because we do all business by credit card," said Bhagat.

The gunman then took the hotel clerk to a back room and demanded the clerk wake up the hotel general manager to get more money, the owner told Jones.

A security guard told Jones he noticed the commotion and tried to investigate but was shot at by the robber who then jumped out a hotel window.

The guard, who did not want to reveal his name, chased the robber and exchanged gunfire with the thief, shooting the robber and killing him.

"It was going back and forth. Either it was going to be me or him," the guard said. The guard told Jones the robber fired four or five bullets that pierced hotel walls and windows.

The guard said he was just trying to save lives. "What if my kids were here, that's all I was thinking about," he said.

Police later identified the robber as 22-year-old Kadeesh Comer.

Bhagat called the security guard a hero but said he felt sorry for Comer. "$150 is not worth a life," he said.
