CRISP COUNTY, Ga. — The GBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting in south Georgia that left one man hospitalized.
Crisp County authorities say they a received a 911 call about a man shooting at cars on the interstate.

A deputy found the suspect and got out of his patrol car. As the deputy began approaching the man, the suspect fired his gun at the deputy. The deputy returned fire and shot the suspect.
Deputies immediately began administering first aid to the suspect.
He was then flown by helicopter to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.

There is no update on the suspect’s condition. He identity has not been released.
The deputy involved in the shooting has also not been identified.
No deputies or civilians were injured during this incident.
The GBI says their investigation is ongoing.
