MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff’s office arrested a man breaking into vehicles Friday night.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call Friday night at 9:13 p.m. in reference to a person who had broken into a vehicle. The witness told police the suspect was a man wearing a jacket and blue jeans.

When deputies arrived on scene, they were told the suspect went around the side of the building. Once the suspect saw deputies, he ran, and a chase ensued.
The suspect, 19-year-old Dakarai Preston of Alpharetta was arrested. Once deputies began investigating, they learned he broke into several other cars in the parking lot.

Preston was charged with entering autos, criminal attempt to commit a felony and obstruction of an officer. He is being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail.
