ATHENS, Ga.,None — A little more than two years after fire gutted the Georgia Theatre, the popular Athens music venue is open again.
Monday night marked the grand opening of the Georgia Theatre. The rebuilt version of the venue features five levels, including a rooftop bar.
Owners were forced to either rebuild or close for good in June of 2009 after a fire broke out in a dressing room and storage closet. The exact cause of that fire is undetermined.
