DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A homeowner was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a tree fell on the porch he happened to be on at the time.
Wes Tallon of the Douglas County Fire Department said a tree fell on the back porch of a house on Marilla Street at about 8 a.m.
The homeowner, 54-year-old Johnny Camp, said he was sitting in his covered patio and was watching the storms move through when the roof came crashing down on him.

A large tree in his backyard fell onto the patio. The fallen tree left Camp trapped under the tree and debris for an hour.
Emergency crews talked to Camp as they worked to rescue him. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
His fiancee told Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones that he was shaken up, but was doing OK.
