Authorities are responding Friday afternoon to reports of a shooting at a Maryland high school.
Officials with the West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department said on Twitter that officials were called to an "active shooter" at Suitland High School in District Heights. Prince County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor, however, said the situation was not active in a tweet.

Citing reports from the school, WTTG said the school was in lockdown immediately after the report.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
