ATLANTA — An Augusta man has won a brand-new vehicle playing an instant game from the Georgia Lottery. Milton Singleton, 49, won a 2014 Kia Soul from being selected as a winner of the 21 Black Series Second Chance Promotion.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Singleton with keys to his new vehicle Tuesday at Kia of Augusta, 1770 Gordon Highway in Augusta.
“It was the car, the ticket and the commercial that attracted me,” he said. “When I saw the announcement of the promotion and I saw the car, I just started playing.”
Singleton was “blown away” when he received the good news that he’d won a new car.
“My wife was excited because she said all along that she could see herself driving it,” he said. “We were both caught by surprise and to win at this magnitude is wonderful!”
The lucky winner and his wife, Sharon, anticipate sharing the new car.
“She has more plans for it than I do,” Singleton quipped.
The family of Georgia Lottery instant games, 21 Black Series, is loaded with cash prizes and top prizes ranging from $20,000 to $2.5 million.
Players can enter non-winning 21 Black Series tickets online for a chance to win a 2014 Kia Soul. For more information, visit www.galottery.com.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
