4 Teens Shot At Sweet 16 Party

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Police in Gwinnett County said officers are investigating after someone opened fire during a sweet 16 birthday party, injuring four teenagers.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday at a home on Lock Ness Lane near Snellville.

Police said officers continued to search for the shooter Sunday morning.

Four teenagers were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center on Saturday night after they were shot at the birthday party. The teens were shot in the leg, foot, arm and buttocks, police said.

Officials said the injuries are not life-threatening.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Rebecca Lindstrom spoke to several teenagers who attended the party. The teens told Lindstrom that several people were arguing just before they heard gunshots.

"We helped people, we comforted them while they were lying down," said one teen.

Concerned parents who rushed to the scene said they found broken windows and evidence markers littering the street.

"It's frustrating to know that your child is at a house where there's been a shooting and you can't get to them and the police aren't giving you any information on what's going on. It's a little disturbing," said father Alvin Dudley.

Police called off the search for the shooter after an hour on Saturday, convinced the gunmen had left the area. Investigators said they have not identified the shooter and hope the victims can give them more information.

The teenagers Lindstrom spoke with said everyone at the party attends Shiloh High School in Snellville.
