A trip to a galaxy far, far away will only require a trip to Orlando thanks to a new experience coming to Walt Disney World Resort next year.
“'Star Wars': Galactic Starcruiser is a completely new type of experience,” said Ann Morrow Johnson, executive producer for Walt Disney Imagineering. “You’re going to live on board a star cruise ... and you can get wrapped up in the larger ‘Star Wars’ story.”
The two-night “Star Wars”: Galactic Starcruiser experience allows guests to live their own epic “Star Wars” story. Morrow Johnson noted that when families arrive, they’ll be loaded into a launch pod before experiencing a simulated launch into space. The launch pod docks with the starcruiser, known for exotic expeditions to a galaxy far, far away.
Room accommodations include a window that appears to show a view of space. All guests, including adults, will have the chance to take part in a lightsaber battle. There’s an excursion to the planet of Batuu, as well.
Reservations for the new adventure will open later this year.
