What is Operation Save a Life?

Operation Save a Life started as an on-air public service campaign 24 years ago at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia.

In 2002, Kidde became a partner and the program expanded to New York City. The Home Depot became the retail destination in 2010.

Kidde has donated more than 1.2 million smoke and CO alarms across the nation through OSAL.

We are excited to have WSB-TV become the 12th station to join in the partnership and bring this program to Atlanta and surrounding areas.

The core Operation Save A Life program consists of 30-second safety spots that air on WSB-TV Channel 2 that focus on fire and CO safety and the importance of working alarms, store events at select The Home Depot locations, and a Kidde alarm donation to local fire departments that are then installed in at-risk homes.

Kidde will donate more than 100,000 smoke and carbon monoxide alarms nationally via Operation Save a Life this year.
